REMEMBER the Klangers? Those loveable pink aliens who spoke in a language that sounded suspiciously like a swanee whistle?
The opening of Minotaur Shock's second album combines the Klangers Go Hunting with a Wildlife On One special, one with a curious baby rabbit twitching its nose then scampering into the melee of family life.
At first listen, claims of being a poor man's DJ Shadow seemed wild in the extreme with the messy arrangement tripping over itself. But it is a grower. Opener Muesli seems to work (although you can still see cute rabbits trying to hide from foxes), single Vigo Bay shines out as the clear highlight while closing track Four Magpies - admittedly a self-confessed 'bag of Mini Cheddars' - also hits the spot. Patience is a virtue.
