THE Barbican Centre application for a 2am licence, seven nights per week, has left residents very concerned about noise and damage. There are already drinks being served in close proximity to Kent Street daily.
Earlier this year I saw a drunken man crawling across Barbican Road and Cemetery Road during the day, holding up traffic.
When the Cat's Whiskers, opposite Fishergate School, was open about 30 years ago the noise was horrific between 12.30am and 2.30am, with shouts, screams, buses revving, damage to property, car doors banging and door bells rung at 2am.
It is very hard to work during the day, after being woken up so much during the night, and it is particularly unfair to children.
