MAN-of-the moment Richard Dawson will lead Yorkshire in Wednesday's floodlit totesport League game against Surrey Lions at Headingley.
He takes over from the injured Craig White after steering Yorkshire to a three-wicket County Championship victory over Worcestershire at New Road yesterday and do their chances of promotion in the Championship a power of good.
Acting captain Richard Dawson kept his cool under intense pressure to rap out an unbeaten 51 from 58 deliveries to guide Yorkshire to their fourth Championship success of the season on the final morning of the match.
He was watched from the dressing-room by White, whose damaged knee prevented him from fielding in the Worcestershire second innings.
White is now battling to be fit for Saturday's Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy quarter-final game with Northamptonshire.
