SHAKESPEARE fans will soon be able to enjoy an open air production of Romeo and Juliet in York's Rowntree Park.
Drama group the York Shakespeare Project will perform the play between Wednesday and Sunday, July 24.
Yesterday, about 50 American students and professors from the English literature department at the College of William & Mary, in Virginia, were treated to a sneak preview.
Tickets for each performance cost £7, or £5 for concessions. Opening night tickets cost £4, and can be purchased from York Tourism Information Centre, Ticket World, or on the door.

Time for tea
VILLAGER Pauline Clayton is organising a strawberry tea and open garden, along with cake stall and tombola, at Daneswell House, 35 Main Street, Stamford Bridge, on Saturday, starting at 11am. The event, with a £3 entry charge including strawberry tea, will raise money for the Stamford Bridge Doctors' Surgery Patients Fund. A similar event last year enabled the surgery to buy computer equipment.
