YORK Art Gallery is in a very fine building but I was shocked to see the recently developed caf sporting red plastic seating which could easily have been taken out of a cheap motorway caf.
They are a great disappointment and in very bad taste. As for the art collection, I should very much like to see work displayed from North Yorkshire contemporary artists, such as Susan Neale, Anne Lang and Jim Wright, and there are others worthy of being displayed. Their work would certainly lift the gallery's artwork.
