YORK'S Under-11 schoolboys representative team for next season has taken shape with 11 of the final squad finalised after the second trial on Monday.

A total of 28 had a second chance to impress the selectors after the initial 55 was whittled down at the preliminary trial and a core squad of 11 has been sorted.

Included in the successful players are all three successful candidates from Yearsley Grove, which is thought to be a schoolboy team first.

They are: James Hall (Dunnington Primary), Elliott Frodsham (Yearsley Grove), Jack Ryder (Copmanthorpe), Liam Jackson (Heworth), Dan Wilson (Wigginton), Patrick Evans (Rufforth), Josh Poulter (Hempland), Josh Stilgoe (Forest of Galtres), Tom Allen (Yearsley Grove), Jack Littlechild (Yearsley Grove) and Danny Barrett (Dunnington).

Several trialists will be invited to a training session at the start of next term to add another three or four to the squad. The current crop of under-11s will celebrate their season on Friday with a party at the Marcia from 7.30pm.
