POPPLETON enjoyed a 63-45 Tyke Petroleum Men's Tennis League division one victory over Rowntree Park with John Anderson and Paul Turnbull scoring 25 games.
Paul Adams and Kevin Davidson claimed two of Park's three winning sets.
Sutton's woes continued in the meeting of the bottom two, scoring only 28 against Strensall, whose Mark Haworth and James Whitwell scored 28 as did Chris Evans and Pat Atkinson in the 9-0 whitewash on grass.

Copmanthorpe II kept a narrow hold on third place with a 64-44 win over Bishopthorpe with Dave Dearing and Terry Hibbert scoring an unbeaten 25.
Boston Spa II earned their first win at the expense of a weakened Rufforth with Tim Baker and Mark Morritt leading the way with 25 games in the 7-2 sets win.
Nestl's effort to stay top of division five was simplified by Knaresborough II conceding 36 games towards the 78 total. York II achieved their second win against Dunnington III who later had to concede due to a rule breach by their second team.
Pocklington scored 60 against Heworth to stay second in division six.
Cliffe improved their standing by beating Strensall II 60-48. Keith and Stuart Jackson top scored with 23. Daniel, Christopher and Christian Pillai made up the Strensall squad but could not beat Owen Berger and Paul Arnold (18).
Escrick's Rex Pocklington and Noel Shouksmith's 23 saved the division seven leaders' blushes to land a 57-51 win at Fulford II whose Mark Cook and John Clare scored 25.
Wigginton III were given a good match by Stamford Bridge II who scored 46, 21 unbeaten coming from Tim Orton and Warwick Taylor.
Bishopthorpe II, who conceded for the fourth time this season, will not continue with their fixtures.
