Where did you go? It was a question several people were asking of The Bluetones, the one-time members of the court of Britpop, who slipped away from the Radio 1 playlist status of years ago.

On Saturday night, scores of fans at Fibbers were transported back nine years to exam revision, university hey days and images of Mark Morris storming over cars in the video to Slight Return.

In between the crowd-pleasing hits, Morris and co filled in the gaps of their discography with tunes from Science And Nature and Luxembourg to prove that, well actually, they haven't really been all that far away - even if they haven't had the massive media acclaim of the 90s.

The iconic charm of Morris - the Indie chick's favourite pin-up of 1995 - was as slick as it ever was with his self-effacing humour and cool-as-you-like presentation.

Big favourite Bluetonic was followed up by a return to the set list of Carn't Be Trusted "by popular demand, well, three people wanted it anyway" and the inimitable Fountainhead.

One-time York band Farrah had warmed up a tentative home crowd with an upbeat array of songs ranging from Famous Dentist to forthcoming single Tongue Tied in a sparky performance sure to have turned heads.

The Bluetone biggies - Slight Return and Cut Some Rug - left the crowd screaming for more and they got it, topped off with the happy-go-lucky na-na-na chorus of If... At Fibbers on Saturday night The Bluetones were still very much jumping over cars.
