Malton's cash aid: MORE than £500 was raised by the Ladies Captain's Day at Malton and Norton GC with the cash split between Martin House Hospice and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The competition for the Ladies Captain's Day was a Texas Scramble and was won in wet and cold conditions by Rachel Thomas, Kate Miller, Dot Midgley and Pat Hopkinson.
Mighty Quinns
York Against Cancer's annual Golf Day, sponsored by Norwich Union, at York GC raised more than £9,000.
A total of 40 teams compete for the Prospect Cup, which was won by the Quinns' Quartet led by Ray Quinn. The team with the best gross score was Leeper Hare, captained by Melvyn Allison.
Grad all over
Fulford GC's Junior Hessay Cup was won on count-back by Jamie Gradwell from Ashley Simpson with a net six-under 66. Simpson, however, had the lowest gross of 75 in the event for which the trophy was presented by former professional Bryan Hessay.
First at Forest
DAVID Beattie won the Captain's Day at Forest Park with a net 64, three shots better than his nearest challengers. The divisional honours went to Gareth Ashton (div 1), Don Atkins (div 2), Tim Hunt (div 3) and John Watson (div 4).
Simply Simon
A TWO-UNDER score of 68 clinched victory for Simon Thompson in Allerthorpe Park's June midweek medal. He was three clear of Iain Charlton, whose 75 was the lowest gross score.
Seven heaven
EIGHT-HANDICAPPER Liz Jones won Fulford's Charity Day with 41 points, three clear of Linda Edmondson, to see her handicap cut by a shot.

MEL Allison's Captain's Day at Fulford was won by Pete Jones on 41 stableford points. Jonathan Plaxton had the best gross, a one-over-par 73.
