FORMER York City captain Steve Agnew has been named Hartlepool United's new assistant manager.
Agnew, who scored five goals in 90 matches for the Minstermen between 1998 and 2001, has left his position as a reserve team coach at Leeds United to work with Pool's newly-appointed manager Martin Scott.
Scott took over on a caretaker basis at Victoria Park when the club parted company with Neale Cooper one game before the end of the League One season. He guided the Pool to the play-off-final where they lost to Sheffield Wednesday.
