York City supporters can help raise money for their club by watching their table-topping rugby league neighbours in action next weekend.
Tickets for York City Knights' National League Division Two home clash with Keighley Cougars on Sunday, July 3 are currently on sale at KitKat Crescent and, for every Minstermen fan who buys one, half the money - £5 - will go into the football club's coffers.
The crowds have flocked to Huntington Stadium this season with an average of 2,150 attending home matches.
That figure was boosted by the recent 3,224 that witnessed the Knights' family and schools' fun day against Hunslet and the club are hoping their unique partnership with the Minstermen can also swell numbers a week on Sunday.
York City Supporters' Trust board member David Potter welcomed the initiative, saying: "We hope that City fans will buy their ticket from the football club and then go along to this match knowing that by supporting the Knights they will also be helping the football club financially."
Knights commercial manager Pete Salter, who formerly carried out the same role with the Minstermen, confirmed the partnership would be repeated in future matches if successful and added: "It is great to see the two clubs working together and can only benefit the city as a whole.
"We hope that many City fans will support the Knights at this game and enjoy their first taste of rugby league."
Tickets, costing £10, will be on sale at KitKat Crescent until next Friday (July 1).
Postal applications, containing cheques made payable to York City Knights, can be sent to Jean Wilson, Ticket Office, York City Football Club, KitKat Crescent, York, YO30 7AQ.
