ACE Haxby cyclist Mark Wolstenholme kept his cool to win the Burton and District 100-mile time trial.
The Team Swift rider lined up in a field of 120 for the race in 29 degree heat and a strong headwind on the outward leg, a week after finishing second in the Stockton Wheelers' 50-mile trial.
Several riders - including favourite Ian Cammish of Sonic Cycles - dropped out in the glaring heat but Wolstenholme paced himself well to win by nearly 20 seconds.
Results: 1 M Wolstenholme (Team Swift) 3hrs 53mins 58secs, 2 Neil Skellern (Congleton CC) 3-54.15, 3 Paul Ashby (Team API) 3-54.20.
