I AM a Eurosceptic but I supported the Common Market. But the world is so small now; 70 years ago the only way to cross the Atlantic was by sea, aboard one of the 'Queens' or Mauretania for example, and it took days. Now we can be there and back in one day.
A united Europe will come, in time. How long did it take for the USA to become united? Newfoundland did not become part of Canada until 1948. Towards the end of the Second World War, Winston Churchill proposed a union of Europe administered from London but was defeated and now we have Brussels. So, sceptic that I am, a united Europe is for the future, but let's make haste slowly.
