JORVIK Viking Centre is celebrating its 20th year with a programme of fun events for the summer holiday period.
The events, organised by JORVIK and York Archaeological Trust, offer an exciting mix of talks, battle tactics, mini archaeology, bite-sized lectures, a Viking encampment and living history.
Children can practise their battle moves until August 29, in Coppergate, learning the secrets of how Vikings defend and attack.
Families and adults can learn more about Viking life and meet the Viking settlers at the Viking Encampment in Coppergate on August 7 and August 8.
Lectures and mini archaeology sessions will take place in St Sampson's Square on August 7 and August 8. There will also be daily talks inside JORVIK on bones and on warfare between July 17 and August 29.
