THE secrets of Viking crafts will be revealed at York's Jorvik centre as part of its autumn events programme.
Crafts In Action will bring specialist craftspeople from around the country to demonstrate the skills behind everything from Viking fashions to weaponry.
Experts will create coloured fabrics as part of a Textiles and Fashion feature, which takes place every day from September 1 to 17.
Viking weaponry will be the focus from September 18 to 30, and visitors can learn about leatherworking, bone carving, woodworking and weaving on the four Saturdays in September.
The events are suitable for all ages and are part of the standard admission price to Jorvik, which includes a ride around Jorvik's Viking streets and the exhibitions.
It is open 10am to 5pm daily. More details can be found on 24-hour information line, 01904 643211.
