ROMAN wine is on offer at a York pub as part of this year's Eboracum Roman Festival.
Next Friday K Bar, Grape Lane, York, is hosting a History Of Wine In Roman Times evening complimented by a wine-tasting of half-a-dozen wines from the world as the Romans knew it.
The evening will be fronted by two men from the world of wine, Bill Laverick and Martin Lacy.
Bill is the owner of wine company Bodegas Guillermo and has been involved in the wine trade in York since 1968. He will be talking about the wine.
Martin was the Evening Press wine writer for 15 years, is a member of Jurade de St Emilion, and was editor of the York Book.
His talk will be about the Roman links of the wines and the areas they come from.
The evening starts at 8pm and tickets, priced £7.50, are available from the Eboracum Roman Bathhouse, beneath The Roman Bath in St Sampson's Square, York, or by phoning Rachel Lacy on 07903 509216 or Keith Mulhearn on 07931 668935.
No tickets will be available on the night.
