FULL back Graeme Law will be at York City next season after signing a contract.
Also confirmed on board for 2005-06 at KitKat Crescent yesterday was left-sided youngster Stephen Baynes, who has inked a first professional deal.
But there is still no news on goalkeeper David Stockdale, with manager Billy McEwan revealing he is in talks with another stopper while Stockdale considered his terms.
However, McEwan said he would still take his time building the squad - despite the new pressure of the first transfer deadline.
He said: "We are speaking to players all the time and there's ongoing negotiations in progress.
"I could have brought lots of players in over the last eight to ten weeks but they have got to be the right ones so we are doing our homework and checking up on players in some detail."
The manager denied rumours he had been in contact with former Boston and Chester striker Daryl Clare or ex-City loanee Jon Maloney.
McEwan returned to work to discover the announcement of a transfer window system to the Conference from this season, which will kick in from August 31.
"It does add pressure," he said. "But we have got to abide by it. It's stupid really down at our level because it means we have got to carry a bigger squad and I just don't think it's necessary but I suppose the league feel they have got to do it in line with the other leagues."
But, in contrast to what was originally believed, players will be available for loan deals outside the windows, which will ease some of the pressure on getting it right first time.
The Conference issued a statement this week clarifying the situation and announcing an increase in the number of permitted loan players. Clubs can now take four short-term and four long-term loans at any one time, with the maximum allowed in any one match upped to five.
The impact of the window will also be 'closely monitored' during the season.
