Roger and in for ace
Malton and Norton GC 18-handicapper Roger Jenkins holed in one at the club's par-three 17th hole.
Playing in a friendly senior four-ball, he and his partner won the 16th hole to go ahead for the first time in the match, and then Jenkins holed his 169-yard tee shot with a perfectly struck seven-wood to win the game.
It was his second ace in a long playing career, the previous one at Kirkbymoorside, where he was a member.
Joan of Park
Joan Harrison won Forest Park GC's Lady Captain's Day on count-back from Dilys Billingham and Linda Foxcroft after each had totalled 41 stableford points.
The June medal and EGU Gold Medal Qualifier was won by Mick Robinson with a gross 71 (net 64) prompting a handicap reduction of two shots to 5.2.
Blazing June
FORMER York women's singles tennis champion June Hutt won Fulford GC's Macmillan Bowl with 38 stableford points, three ahead of Rosemary Simmons.
Meanwhile, Fulford ladies halved their Yorkshire Scratch League match with Shipley Beckfoot GC 3-3.
County haul
Filey GC will stage a Yorkshire PGA pro-am on Friday, August 5, Thirsk's and Northallerton's is on Friday, September 16, while Bridlington Links have the Yorkshire PGA Masters on Tuesday, September 20 with a pro-am the following day.
