I thank the 999 service, the professional and nursing staff for the care I received in the intensive care unit and wards 22, 36 and 39 during my recent stay in York Hospital Stroke Unit.
There was compassion and cheerfulness and nothing was too much trouble. The cleanliness was excellent and the food was good.
As far as my experience in York Hospital was concerned I received the very best treatment. Age was of no consequence and, at 83, I was treated exactly the same as younger patients.
Having seen the nurses at work I wish they received more money.
Thanks go to Mr Hayward who was brilliant and also to the doctors and nursing staff in the eye clinic/theatre.
Social Services supplied and fitted the necessary bars at home free of charge. Paul in Physio and Colette also deserve a mention.
Mrs Margaret Cawthorne,
Chatsworth Drive,
York.
