YORK City Knights have seen good news regarding half-back star Scott Rhodes turn to concern.
The Players' Player of the Year has agreed an extension to his contract which will keep him at Huntington Stadium until the end of next season.
But he has also suffered a calf injury in the build-up to Saturday's home bout with Blackpool Panthers (kick off 5.30pm), pulling up in training in a seemingly innocuous incident.
The speedy half-back was set to return to the starting line-up following his try-scoring exploits off the bench in the Knights' previous run-out, the last-minute victory over Hunslet. But he is now a doubt for this week and beyond.
Coach Mick Cook explained: "He went to catch a ball and creased up. We will have to see how bad it is."
Rhodes missed the start of the season following shoulder surgery over the winter and has since started seven games and been a playing substitute on three other occasions, scoring three tries.
