Tadcaster Grammar School footballers David Brown and Chaz Wrigley hope to follow old boy Matthew Kilgallon to the top.
Former Tad pupil Kilgallon went on to become an England Under-21 international, and now the door to being a full-time professional is open to the 16-year-old duo.
Striker Brown has joined Kilgallon's club, Leeds United, as a trainee on a two-year deal, while midfielder Wrigley, who scored twice at KitKat Crescent in Tadcaster's 4-2 win over Fulford in the York and District Schools final at the end of last season, has linked up with York City on the same terms.
Wrigley, from Rufforth, plays for both Copmanthorpe and Tadcaster, while Brown is with Tadcaster Albion.
Both teenagers have developed their skills at Tadcaster Grammar under the eye of Chris Jones, the former City striker.
York Under-11s Schoolboys will contest the final of the West Yorkshire Cup on Saturday, June 11 at York Sixth Form College.
York Schools Football Association are holding their annual presentation night at Huntington Sports Club on Saturday.
Awards will be presented for manager's and players player of the year for each age group.
Players and parents should arrive at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
