A FOURTH century of the season was denied for division one run-machine Lorenzo Ingram.
The Stamford Bridge ace was closing in on his quartet of tons when he was caught by Duncombe Park's Mike Harding off Mark Wilkie for 80.
However, by the time the Jamaican departed, Stamford were well on the way to surpassing the 143 all out total made by their second-placed foes for whom Wilkie made 59. Bridge's successful bowlers were Pete Aconley with 3-30 and Graham Tipping (4-54), while Ed Sykes supported Ingram with 39 as Stamford increased their lead.
There was a real thriller at Chanterlands where hosts Hull Zingari pulled off a fine one-wicket win against York II.
York's overseas man Jason English gave value in making 82, while Andy Kay added 30 in a score of 223-8 as Jason Hellwig took 3-53.
But English's innings was eclipsed by fellow Australian Wade Pelzer, who responded with 102 before falling to a leg before call in the final over just before victory was confirmed.
Earlier Pelzer had been supported by Ashley Page with 36 and Matt Bunn (27) with bowling honours shared by Rob Harrison (4-68) and Graham Mackfall (3-35).
A relatively rare result occurred at Pocklington where both the hosts and Thirsk were dismissed for an identical 142.
Pocklington's Peter Powell, with 4-24 and Mark Croft (3-18) held sway in the first half when the best batting came from Huw Williams with 44 and Mark Cook 27.
After the break it was the turn of Barry Petty (4-41) and Neil Laidlaw (4-40) who had the home side on the rocks at 137-9 but could not gain the final wicket until the scores were levelled. Ian Camwell's 40 was of immense value to Pocklington.
Second division leaders Goole Town showed their supremacy in emphatic fashion when they crushed third-placed Bolton Percy by eight wickets.
Bolton's batsmen fared badly as home bowlers Athony Gibbins (6-27) and Dave England (4-23) had them all out for 82. Ashley Hulme then eased Goole to 83-2 with an unbeaten 41.
Hosts New Earswick were dismissed for only 89 by Crayke as the two bottom sides clashed.
Mark Hutchinson took 6-46 and Dave Allitt 3-22 to set up Crayke's first win of the season which they duly achieved for the loss of just one wicket as Paul Hutchinson made an undefeated 63 to inflict a defeat which leaves Earswick 46 points adrift at the foot of the division.
