I SHOULD like to thank a gentleman called Dennis who came to my rescue in Tesco's car park at Clifton Moor, York, on Monday, May 23.
As I parked my car he came up to me and pointed out a very flat tyre. He asked if I knew what to do. Needless to say I had no idea.
He then rolled up his sleeves, retrieved the spare from my car boot, and proceeded to remove the offending tyre and replace it with the spare.
He advised me about where to go to get the old tyre fixed, or a new one if necessary.
When I asked if I could reimburse him for his time and effort he said of course I could not, and that he should like to think that if his wife ever needed similar help someone would be there for her.
Dennis has renewed my faith in human nature, and I hope he gets to read this letter.
Thank you.
Mrs Ann Geary
York Road,
Haxby, York.
