ANDREW Burns was the star performer for York City Baths Club at the annual Middlesbrough Open Meet.
The 11-year-old swimmer collected the 'Top Boy' award after winning three gold medals, two silver and three bronze. He was also fifth in the 100 metres backstroke.
His victories were all in new meet record times and came in the 100m butterfly, 200m butterfly and 200m breaststroke. He was second in the 200m individual medley and 200m freestyle and third in the 100m freestyle, 100m breaststroke, while he clocked a national age group qualifying time in the 200m backstroke.
Rachel Eastaugh, 14, struck gold in the 100m backstroke and silver in the 100m freestyle. She was sixth in the 200m backstroke, seventh in the 100m butterfly and 100m breaststroke and eighth in the 400m freestyle.
Sixteen-year-old Mairi Macdonald touched home second in the 100m breaststroke and was fifth in the 200m IM.
Sophie Glasby, 12, collected another NAQT as she took bronze in the 100m backstroke. She was fifth in the longer backstroke event.
Chris Burns, 14, took bronze in the 100m breaststroke, seventh in both 100m and 200m freestyle and eighth in the 100m backstroke. Michelle Moffatt, also 14, travelled to Teesside for just one event and claimed a NAQT as she took bronze in the 200m freestyle.
Ten-year-old Anna Atkinson-Smith hit another NAQT as she was fourth in the 200m breaststroke. Swimming in the lower end of her age group, she also finished sixth in the 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke, seventh in the 200m butterfly and 200m backstroke with eighth in the 200m IM.
Top eight finishes were also posted by: Tom Jackson, 14, fourth in the 200m breaststroke; Norbert Banhidy, 11, fourth 100m backstroke, fifth 200m backstroke; James Wilby, 11, fourth 200m breaststroke; Nick Boaz, 16 and over, sixth 100m breaststroke; Andrew Fowler, 16 and over, seventh 100m breaststroke; James Rogers, 13, seventh 100m backstroke and Kieran Taylor, 15, seventh 100m backstroke.
Other York swimmers, who clocked performing personal best times were: Lucy Recchia, Simon Duston, Alex Fowler, Lucie Calpin, Georgina Hart, Rachael Webster, Bradley Swainston, Kirsty Smith, Alice Carty, Charlotte Mason, Hannah Carty and Jennifer Hodgson.
