THE new president of the West Yorkshire Society of Chartered Accountants (WYSCA) is a York-born and schooled business recovery specialist.
Nick Reed attended Archbishop Holgate's School, in Hull Road, followed by Leeds University, and has been with PricewaterhouseCoopers since 1985.
He now heads the WYSCA, which draws its membership from chartered accountants working not only in West Yorkshire, but also in York and North Yorkshire.
Nick took over the office from David Warren at the society's annual general meeting in Leeds earlier this month. He said: "I am really looking forward to the next 12 months, particularly as my presidency falls in the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales' 125th anniversary year.
"I hope to continue the good work done by our immediate past president David Warren and his predecessors and I know that there are a number of events already planned - not least, of course, the WYSCA Awards, celebrating the best in our profession, which will be presented at our gala dinner on 21 October."
Nick is a keen golfer and also enjoys fly-fishing.
He is joined at WYSCA by Gail Monickendam as deputy president.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales is the largest professional accountancy body in Europe, with over 126,000 members.
