LUCY Butcher will be looking to carve up the opposition in the European National Hockey Trophy this summer when she takes the wing for Wales Under-18s for the first time.
The 16-year-old Year 11 student at Pocklington School will be jetting out to Lithuania in July after her GCSEs to strengthen the Welsh attack.
Butcher has already represented the country at U16 level and has been a regular in the North of England squads since playing in the U16 National Territorial Regional finals in October 2003, and has been a member of the U17 development squad since February last year.
Regional and international fixtures permitting, she also regularly plays for Pocklington School's first team and City of York Hockey Club. She has also represented the east Riding.
Wigginton enjoyed a five-match 100 per cent record to win the York Primary Schools' Contact Rugby Festival.
The tournament, organised by the York City Knights Community programme in conjunction with the York Nines Festival who provided the winners' trophy, was contested by six schools at Heworth Amateur Rugby League Club.
Bishopthorpe beat Westfield to second place on points difference while Long Marston picked up the fair play award.

A PRIMARY School mixed six- a-side hockey tournament is being held at Lowfield School, York, tomorrow to identify talent of the future.
Representatives from local hockey clubs have been invited to attend to cast their eyes over the eight teams taking part.
The tournament, involving up t 80 children, is the culmination of eight weeks' coaching for the teams.
The tournament will run from 1pm to 3.30pm.
QUEEN Margaret's senior tennis team have won the Yorkshire Counties Senior Student Tennis Tournament culminating in a 5-1 victory over Wakefield Girl's High School.
The majority of this tournament was played over the winter months, culminating in that convincing victory over Wakefield in last weeks Yorkshire Counties Final.
