YOUR account of the A19 protest misquotes me as saying the plans include building five new access roads for the planned housing development at Germany Beck.
One of the primary objections to the development is the city council's insistence on a single access road (even though this will have five lanes). At the parish council's March meeting grave concern was expressed by residents that there will be only one access road for more than 1,000 houses and this will be on to a road, the A19, which is clearly unable to cope with the volume of traffic that already uses this main route into York.

Vice-Chair, Fulford Parish Council, Fulford Park, York.
