A SCENARIO for Mrs Pierotti (Letters, May 18).
You are waiting at a bus stop in the middle of town with a buggy-load of fractious child who desperately needs a nappy change and is hungry and cold.
It is late into the afternoon and the weather is miserable. A bus arrives but already has two buggies on board so, by rule, you cannot board.
Another bus arrives which also has two buggies on board. Again, you are refused access.
This is repeated several more times and, an hour later, how do you feel about not allowing the driver discretion? I am sure First bus drivers do their best to ensure passengers' needs are met both in terms of convenience and safety, but to suggest a rigid limit is enforced is unreasonable.
A Dobinson,
Askham Lane,
York.
