A YORK-based firm has been shortlisted for an industry award for its work in informing the construction trade about asbestos within buildings.
Eurosafe UK has been nominated in Building magazine's Best Construction Consultant's Safety Innovation category, which is open to thousands of UK construction, project management and safety consultants. The category rewards ventures that have improved health and safety performance.
The firm, with a head office at Centurion Park, York, was selected for the asbestos register section of its www.e-constructionmanager.co.uk site, which has improved how construction operatives are informed about asbestos within buildings. Alison Day, of Eurosafe UK, said: "We are delighted to be shortlisted. The integrated asbestos survey, management and information sharing package that we can now offer is proving extremely popular with clients who have large property portfolios. With clients showing a growing preference to work with firms that have a strong health and safety record, the fact that Eurosafe UK has made it onto the shortlist means that we are up there, among the best in this industry."
