ACOMB moved out of the bottom two of division three when they beat Londesbrough Park by six wickets.
Andy Sykes set the York club on the road to victory when he claimed the first six Londesbrough wickets at a cost of 37 runs as Park were bowled out for 96. Paul Hemmingway then fronted the home reply with an unbeaten 42. Mark Tissiman took 3-28 for the losers.
Yapham had a disastrous day when they entertained Easingwold II and went down to a ten wicket defeat in the day's shortest game.
The village's batsmen had no answer to the twin attack of Alan Robinson, who had 6-22, and Andy Metcalfe who took 4-21 and were bowled over for just 62. Gary Sanders then launched into the home bowling with a vengeance as he rattled an unbeaten 53 as Easingwold raced to victory in the 16th over to move to the top of the division.
Paul Neal hit an unbeaten 67 for Heworth who, with the assistance of Dave Wood 27 and Jason Gatus 35, posted a target of 210-7 for Harrogate to pursue. This proved to be too far distant for the visitors who moved to 156-8 through Faron Norris 40, A Taylor 34 and T Henry whose 25no counterbalanced a late threat from Andy Parkinson 3-19.
Andrew Slaughter's 6-50 bowled Clifton Alliance to the brink of defeat at Malton but failed to clinch the job as Duncan Naylor's 35 helped his side survive a tight finish at 134-9. Earlier Jim Dawson had hit 38 as Malton had been pegged to 146-9 by the bowling of Mick Knowles 3-39 and John Myers 3-52.
Wilberfoss were another side whose last pair held on for a draw. Stillington gained their full quota of batting points due to runs from Barry Milburn 60, Ben Drummond 38 and Kev Borwell 34. Wicket takers for'Foss were Adam Lofthouse 3-60 and John Chaplin 4-37. After tea, David Chaplin made 52 and Julian Atkinson 36 but Borwell's 4-28 had the East Riding side clinging on desperately to maintain their unbeaten record.
