Frankie Dettori, buoyant from his Irish 2,000 Guineas success on Saturday aboard Dubawi, will be in action at Ripon tomorrow.

Britain's most popular jockey rides Moktabes, a stablemate of Dubawi, in the Grantley Maiden Stakes.

Little is known of this well-bred three-year-old, who has never raced before. But such is the formidable power of the Godolphin operation, which reportedly has 400 horses in training at Newmarket this season, that the Saeed Bin Suroor-trained colt commands plenty of respect - especially with Dettori on board.

In the Nick Wilmot-Smith Memorial Handicap, Dettori will be on the Jamie Osborne-trained Morse, a horse with decent prospects, but my vote goes to North Yorkshire hope Partners In Jazz, trained near Thirsk by David Barron.

The mount of Willie Supple, Partners In Jazz ran a fine race on his recent reappearance at York to finish a creditable seventh of 19 runners to Solider's Tale in one of the hottest sprint handicaps of the season.

Sure to have benefited from that outing, Partners In Jazz merits plenty of respect here.

At Sedgefield's evening meeting, Maltone trainer Peter Niven has a good chance of landing the biggest prize on offer with Talarive.

The John Wade Skip Hire Premier Selling Hurdle, the final of an annual series of races, offers a £10,000 purse to basically modest performers.

Talarive has been in good form, notching a five lengths success in claiming company at Wetherby last week.

A winner on this course earlier in the year, Talarive is napped to follow-up, despite a 7lb penalty.
