I AM writing to you to set the record straight regarding the plans for Germany Beck, partly to answer Ian Snedden's points.
The council has not given the go-ahead for the development - the planning meeting takes place this Thursday at 2pm.
It was also claimed that I had a lack of fight or interest in the development - this is certainly not the case. Many people in the local community, including the parish council and myself, are objecting to the development in its current form.
I have stated this on the public record at ward committee meetings, and in my Fulford newsletters.
I will continue to represent the views of Fulford residents in opposing this large housing development. I have especially been raising concerns with the traffic and access implications for Fordlands Road, the A19/A64, and surrounding area, as well as other issues such as those of Fulford Battlefield Society.
I hope that many others, including Mr Snedden, will join with the local community at the public protest today.
Coun Keith Aspden
Liberal Democrat,
Fulford ward,
Beckfield Lane, York.
