I was appalled at the state in which York was left after the last race meeting. I walked my dog the morning after the races and had to step through broken bottles, chicken bones, wrappers and other rubbish.
When I left for work, I was horrified to see a council worker at the end of my street cleaning up all the rubbish with his bare hands and he was doing this early, probably before anybody could see because not many people are about at this time of day. I hope the council resolves this in time for Ascot or we all may as well live in a landfill site.
