YOUR On This Day column said that the first Zeppelin raids on England took place on May 10, 1915.
I am reading a library book about the First World War, selected on my behalf by the staff of Tadcaster Library, and brought to my home by the much-appreciated local Books On Wheels volunteers.
It includes this information: "The first raid over British soil took place on January 19, 1915 on Great Yarmouth in Norfolk."
This was a surprise to me and it also contradicts your information.
My London relatives always maintained that "their" capital city was the target for the murderous Zeppelins.
Would any reader be prepared to comment on the Zeppelin raids in England during the First World War and help fill in gaps in my education?
