City of York Hockey Club Under-11 girls finished in fifth place overall in the National Mini-Hockey Championships at Highfield in Nottingham.
The squad, who comprised, Rebecca Wootton, Emma Burton, Amber Moorcroft, Lauren Boddison, Rebecca Rankin, Charlotte Worsman, Charlotte McDermottroe, Georgina Grant, Sarah Clay and Hannah Garnett, lost their opening game 2-0 to Monkton Combe.
The next game was against the eventual winners Orwell Park School who scored an early goal and then hung on for the 1-0 win.
The third match was against Shroud School and in another game York could have won they went down 2-1. McDermottroe netted York's equaliser but also had a penalty stroke saved.
The final game against Belper ended score-less.
