Heworth have ended Next Generation's unbeaten run in the IT Sports York Mixed Tennis League.
NG's second team went down 69-39 in division ten at East Parade with Helen Walker and junior Ben Leftwich setting the standard.
Heworth are struggling along with only two courts as the third court they hire from the City of York Council in Glen Gardens has not yet been finished.
Unbeaten Fulford, who were promoted with Next Generation, won at Wistow where juniors Chloe McClaren and Josh Beavers were joint top scorers.
Division one champions York were pushed all the way at Dunnington before winning 56-52 with Wendy Stirke and partner Andy Cooke remaining unbeaten. They included a 6-6 draw with Sue Sumner and Trevor Loten.
Poppleton lost 57-51 at Fulford II with captain Belinda Turnbull and Michael Binns ensuring victory despite Fulford's fightback after a poor first round.
Civil Service, with Wendy Cook and Phil Sinton in form, won 66-42 at Rowntree Park to lead division two.
A feature of the week's results were the number of 55-53 scorelines with Joyce Rhodes and Paul Birch ensuring Dunnington edged to victory at Poppleton but their side went down by the same score at home to Castlegarth, whose Sue Jacklin and Rob Osborne won 24 games.
Sherburn's first pair, Heather Rotherham and Jonathan Sharp, continued to score heavily, dropping only four games in their division three win against Civil Service.
Fulford squeezed home 55-53 against York with Eleanor Crooks and Daniel Bruce leading the way with 21 games.
Copmanthorpe defeated a strong Bubwith side 72-36 with unbeaten Liz Swallow and Alan Partington amassing 27 games.
Wigginton second team have won their two openers in division five.
League secretary Sue Espiner and Mike Baxter led Wigginton II to division five victory at Tollerton. Kate Rorrison and Simon Drake were the only Wigginton couple to win all three rubbers against Wistow.
Unbeaten league chairman Margaret Jenkins and Simon White could not prevent Dunnington losing to Wigginton III.
Nestl enjoyed a good 70-30 win against Riccall in division seven, while fellow promoted side Wilberfoss have won both their opening games against Civil Service and Tadcaster with Aileen Hunt and John Huffington on top form.
Jane Boddy and Tony Dowments won 34 games for Stamford Bridge against Strensall but were overshadowed as husband and wife Angie and Dave Pearson lost just one game for Alne in division 11when they went to Sutton on Derwent.
