TWO motorbike crashes over the weekend left one victim dead and three more seriously injured.
A rider, who was riding a Honda, was killed after a collision with a car at Masham Bank yesterday.
Police said the crash occurred as a red Citroen AX was turning right into Kilgram Lane towards Bedale.
The victim, who has not been named, was airlifted to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough. Anyone with information should phone Harrogate police on 01423 539326.
Another crash on the B1222 Cawood to Stillingfleet road on Saturday left a couple from York and another man with serious injuries.
Two motorbikes were involved in the smash at about 3pm on Saturday.
The man and woman from York, believed to be a husband and wife, were riding on a Kawasaki 900 going towards York and collided with a Suzuki motorbike ridden by a man from Castleford as they rounded a bend in the road.
All three riders came off their bikes and were taken by ambulance to York Hospital. The York man broke his right leg and arm and collar bone and the woman, who was on the back of the bike, broke her right leg and collar bone.
The man from Castleford was left with broken bones in his hands and feet.
A York motorcyclist was injured in a crash at Rudston, near Bridlington, on Saturday.
The Ducati rider, a 24-year-old man from the York area, suffered cuts to the chin and bruising.
