THE modern trend of staging wall-to-wall racing in Britain from May to August sees Redcar and Beverley going head-to-head tomorrow afternoon.

This bizarre clash is further highlighted by both courses staging their feature races over a similar distance - a mile - and for horses in the 71-85 handicap range.

At Redcar, the in-form Kevin Ryan looks to be in prime position for the main honours with Mystic Man in the Carlsberg Straight Mile Championship Handicap, a qualifier for a £30,000 final to be run on the track in October.

From a stable which has already sent out more than 30 winners this year, Mystic Man looks to be coming to hand, judged on his latest effort at Thirsk where he finished fourth to King Harson over seven furlongs.

Badly drawn on that occasion, Mystic Man is open to further improvement over this extra furlong and on a sounder surface. Neil Callan takes the mount.

At Beverley, Tough Love should not be overlooked in the Racing UK On Channel 432 Handicap.

Tim Easterby's gelding, a high-class handicapper two seasons ago, never seemed to find top form last year, but there was plenty to like about his comeback performance at Musselburgh recently.

Returning to a course where he has won in the past, Tough Love is more than capable of lifting tomorrow's £14,000 prize.

Thomas Tate, who sent out the exciting Another Bottle to win at Ripon yesterday, can capture the Blue Diamond Night on 16 June Handicap with Nap selection Gardasee.

The three-year-old shaped well at Pontefract recently to finish sixth to Spinning Coin, looking as though he might just have needed this comeback outing.

Over the same distance of a mile and a half tomorrow, Gardasee has a fine chance of gaining his first win in a low-grade event.
