I LIVE in a city with one of the worst air pollution records in the country.
To walk on Holgate Road, Blossom Street, Gillygate or Bootham at certain times of the day is literally breathtaking.
The filth discharged from traffic in these areas of the town can be seen suspended in the atmosphere, you can taste it. It is lethal. Which is the most detrimental to health, a drink in a pub, probably equipped with some form of air purification system, or a walk down Gillygate?
