EMMERDALE'S Mandy Dingle, aka actress Lisa Riley, is to return to North Yorkshire in a steamy comedy - set in Harrogate's world famous Victorian Turkish Baths.
The Baths have just undergone a £1m restoration and to celebrate, Harrogate Theatre is to use them to stage a production of Nell Dunn's comedy Steaming.
The play, which premiered in the West End in 1985, was originally written to be performed in a municipal Turkish baths.
It tells the story of six different women who find companionship from their time spent together in their local Turkish baths. When their paradise is threatened with closure, however, they aren't going to let it go without a fight.
The Harrogate performance, to be directed by Harrogate Theatre's artistic director Hannah Chissick, will run from July 12-30.
It will be staged 'promenade style' - which means the audience will follow the action around the splendidly restored baths, making for what should be a spectacular show.
Ms Riley, who is known for her portrayal of the downtrodden Rebecca Patterson in the award winning Kay Mellor drama Fat Friends as well as for playing Mandy Dingle in Emmerdale, is delighted to be returning to Yorkshire.
Harrogate Theatre's production of Steaming runs at Harrogate Council's Turkish Baths from July 12-30. Tickets £16 from the box office on 01423 502116.
