Johnny Murtagh, who scooped the major honours on Knavesmire yesterday when winning the Dante Stakes on Motivator - now the clear favourite for next month's Derby - can stay in the spotlight at Newbury tomorrow.
He teams-up with Le Vie Dei Colori in the £200,000 Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes and Luca Cumani's recruit looks sure to take all the beating in this Group 1 race.
A top-flight performer, previously trained in Italy, Le Vie Dei Colori made a winning debut for Cumani at Leicester last month when cheekily winning a seven-furlong Listed race.
The colt will relish tomorrow's step back up to a mile, a distance over which he finished a close third to Soviet Song and Nayir in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood last season.
The biggest danger tomorrow is likely to come from Rakti, who is a brilliant performer on his day. However, the Michael Jarvis-trained six-year-old can be his own worst enemy, through getting wound-up and pulling too hard. He will need to be at his most amenable if he is to get the better tomorrow of the exciting and talented Le Vie Dei Colori.
Jamie Spencer, riding out of his skin this season and aboard two winners at York on Wednesday, has a smart mount in Forgery in the London Paddy Power Gold Cup.
Beaten only a length into second place by Quizzene (a winner again since) at Sandown last month, Forgery, trained by Gerard Butler, looks poised for a profitable campaign.
Dubai Success could be worth a second look in the Paddy Power Stakes.
Barry Hills' useful colt finished third to Alcazar in the Sagaro Stakes at Lingfield last time. He should find tomorrow's shorter distance in his favour on a course where he won the John Porter Stakes last season.
At Thirsk, David Barron, who trains at Maunby, only a few miles from the course, has excellent prospects of landing the Rectangle Group Handicap with Namir.
Already a course winner this season, Namir followed-up with a gutsy success at Hamilton last week. This speedy three-year-old has every chance of completing a hat-trick under accomplished apprentice Philip Makin.
Nap selection Mecca's Mate will be hard to catch in the Army Benevolent Fund Handicap over six furlongs.
David Barker's speedster was an impressive winner at Thirsk last week and, although raised 10lb by the handicapper, could oblige again under Robert Winston, who rates her highly.
Christa Bee, who followed-her debut success at Southwell with a fluent victory at Redcar at the start of the week, has hat-trick claims in the EBF Carlton Miniott Novice Fillies' Stakes.
