ONCE again we have the moaners and groaners in the paper complaining about the development of Derwenthorpe (Letters, May 6).
I just hope that once it is built they actually call it Disasterthorpe and move all the moaners into the development.
Once again they have to drag Huntington into the equation quoting statements by the Labour group leader about "favours".
He or she should think themselves lucky that it's not the Labour group guiding this project because it would have ended up as a skyscraper development, given their track record.
To all those groups who are opposing the development, including the parish council who do not know when its decisions are political or not, fight on your own merits, leave Huntington alone, the residents of Huntington have suffered more development, transport increase and pollution than any other area in York.
And we are still doing so, recently a further 182 apartments and 11 houses at Birch Park alone - another legacy of the Labour group. There is also a further massive expansion of Monks Cross by developers.
