OUR garden rubbish recycle bin was delivered more than fortnight ago. Now we have Selby District Council threatening to issue fines if these bins, or any of the other three bins we have, are not correctly used.
Our caring district council should be helping residents to ensure the bins are used as intended, not threatening them. Dennis Towle's report (May 10) mentioned Selby council was offering to write to its customers. I welcome this.
Having written to them on January 31 this year listing several serious issues, I have yet to receive a meaningful response. The reply, on February 28, only served to advise me that, as a resident of Cliffe, some of my council tax was allocated to Carlton.
David Rhodes,
The Shrubberies,
Cliffe, Selby.
