The refuse collection system is diabolical, it seems refuse workers only want to do so much work.
We have had to ring the refuse unit to complain our rubbish has been overlooked many times. Then we get a mouthful from collectors refusing to take it again because our bin is to full.
Seven weeks ago we rang to report the collectors had broken our bin and removed it when they left. After numerous calls we are still waiting for a new bin. We had to buy one because the council would not provide an adequately-sized bin, even though we are a family of six.
They should supply us with adequate refuse and recycling units, then many would recycle. In the south of England, this scheme is compulsory and works very well, one bin for waste the other for paper, tins etc. If the council intends to introduce fortnightly collections, the refuse from homes will be a health risk. A nightmare! Mrs S Churchill,
