IF the council wants us to recycle as much waste as we can, they should pick up our recyclable items when they are suppose to.
We have not had a pick-up since before Easter. The day for our refuse and recycling pick-up was delayed by a day during Easter week so the recycling pick-up did not happen and it hasn't since.
I can drive some of my waste to the nearest store with suitable facilities, but some elderly people are not as lucky, so they put it all in the wheelie bin, which is not environmentally friendly.
The council told me they will take extra rubbish the next time they come, but if I had saved all ten weeks' worth at home we would be knee-deep in newspapers, magazines, cans and glass.
