RECYCLING... it's a doddle! Ten years ago I lived in West Yorkshire. When the new recycling scheme was introduced we were provided with a green wheelie-bin and a grey one.
Into the green bin went paper, plastic, cardboard, tins and other recyclable materials. Anything else, which wasn't much, ended up in the grey bin. Emptying followed an alternating fortnightly cycle, without causing bins to overflow.
After the usual pre-introduction rumblings, which proved groundless, the scheme was found to work extremely well.
I urge Yorkies to stop grumbling and get on with introducing the proposed new arrangements.
Do not say "I haven't got the time to recycle" - it does not take any more time to throw out your rubbish - just more thought to make sure it goes in the right bin.
