Clifton came out on top when the York Sunday Afternoon Football League's top scorers were pitched against its most miserly defence in the League Cup final.
The College of Law had only conceded 17 league goals but found themselves 2-0 down inside the first ten minutes against a Clifton team who had found the net 148 times in a prolific season.
Ross Moynihan and Kevin Butler both profited from goalkeeping errors by Alex Wilby, who was playing his first game for four years with regular first-choice shot-stopper Pat Parkin at a wedding.
At the other end, College of Law saw Frank Moran and Bryan Faulkner squander excellent one-on-one chances.
Bill Allen extended Clifton's lead early in the second half before Conor McGuire replied for Law after beating the offside trap.
Clifton, who have struggled on without the help of a sponsor for several years, restored their three-goal cushion through Bill Walmsley, but Andy Smith made it 4-2 on 75 minutes and added respectability to the final scoreline when he sidefooted in after Carl Roche had headed across goal from a free-kick.
The cup win caps another successful season for Clifton, which included them taking the league title for the third time in three years with double the amount of goals scored as other clubs.
They have won division one four times and twice finished runners-up, lifted the League Cup twice, and won both the Gary Penrose Cup and the President's Cup.
