PUNTERS looking for a hot tip for the Vodafone Derby will have all eyes on York Races tomorrow.

The second day of the May Festival on Knavesmire includes the Dante Stakes which provides an accurate guide to the big race at Epsom.

Last year the Dante 1-2-3 of North Light, Rule of Law and Let The Lion Roar came home in the same order in the Derby.

This year the popular Frankie Dettori, who was the leading rider at York last season, has been snapped up by Newmarket trainer Jeremy Noseda to replace the suspended Eddie Ahern to ride Proclamation in tomorrow's Classic trial.

Dettori was free because the Godolphin stable entry Belenus is to miss the Group Two contest.

Proclamation's clash with Michael Bell's stable star Motivator is one of the highlights of tomorrow's card. Motivator is second favourite for the Derby at 5-1 with Proclamation a 12-1 shot alongside Aiden O'Brien's Albert Hall, who also goes in the Dante.

Sheriff Hutton jockey Kevin Darley will be on board Kinnaird, who will seek to land her first triumph since her juvenile days, when she runs in the totepool Middleton Stakes tomorrow.

The four-year-old daughter of Dr Devious won five times as a youngster.

After Darley's engagements at York, he will jet off to ride Middleham-based Mark Johnston's star Attraction in the Champions Mile In Hong Kong this weekend.
