YOUR article on the ring road roundabout quoting £500,000 to merely add one lane is quite breathtaking (May 5). How can costs be so high for a short stretch of extra Tarmac? Surely any such measures taken are just mere tinkering?
What is needed is a complete upgrade of the ring road to dual status with flyovers. Strensall roundabout would be a good starting point all the way to the A64.
In later years the rest could be completed one stretch at a time.
