FOLKTON and Flixton and Wilberfoss are joint leaders of division three after both recorded their second victory of the season.
Flixton travelled to Clifton Alliance where the home side's batsmen prospered with Paul Walton making 60 and Mick Knowles 31.
The introduction into the attack of John Sowden, who was back in York League territory for the first time since spending a few years at Sheriff Hutton Bridge in the early 90s, brought about a change when he claimed three wickets without any personal cost to hold Clifton to 170-9.
The home side then struck quickly as the League's latest newcomers lost two wickets for just four runs but this proved to be the peak of the home joy as Neil Elvidge with 81no and Mick Walmsley 80no flayed the bowling in an unbroken 168-run stand which earned an eight-wicket triumph.
Wilberfoss took first knock at Castleford and made 161-8 with Julian Atkinson hitting 31 and Craig Nesbitt 32 while Conan Roos had 3-44 for the Caldersiders. The second half of the game was a showcase for Adam Lofthouse who took 6-26 to dismiss the home side, for whom no batsman made a memorable show, for 136.
